Home improvements

To further our recent efforts at upgrading the outside of the house, I faux finished our metal front door and surround to look like wood. It matches our garage doors and looks exactly like wood.

We gulped hard and handed over a chunk of saved money for new energy efficient windows on half our house. We decided to go with NT Window Twinsulator thermal break bronze frames as I dislike the look of vinyl windows immensely. We put grids on the front to match the neighborhood. The rest of the windows don't have grids. There is a thermal break that keeps the window from transferring heat inside. It took 6 months in our world of shortages but getting them installed was a dream come true. The difference in how the house looks is so worth it. We ordered the last batch and now we wait. The installation process was professional and smooth. It is a little shocking that they break the windows and collapse the frame but it was quieter than I imagined. They did a good job cleaning up but I found some pieces of glass. We wore shoes for a few days and I vacuumed and swept very well for two days. Milestone Windows is local to us and I recommend them!
